Definition of Tea

First of all let’s differentiate between tea and herbal tea. The beverage referred to as tea comes from a shrub called Camellia Sinensis. This beverage contains caffeine. (classification of the leaf will follow) As for the misuse of the term herbal tea, there is no such beverage. Herbal means plants, flowers or fruit but no camellia sinensis. The proper term for these beverages should be an herbal infusion or fruit infusion.
